Complementary Therapies
Reiki is a Japanese complementary therapy that promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and natural healing in the body through manipulation of subtle energies. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy that promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and natural healing in the body through application of gentle pressure to reflex points on the feet. Reflex points correspond with organs and systems of the body and applying pressure to these points enables the client to let stress and tension flow away, providing health benefits to the individual. For over 3000 years, Traditional Chinese Practitioners have been using a type of reflexology to help balance the life force energy and treat health conditions.

Developed in the 1950s by Australian bodywork practitioner Tom Bowen, Bowen therapy, also called Bowenwork or Bowtech, involves gently stretching the fascia to promote pain relief. Bowen therapy uses precise and gentle, rolling hand movements on the muscles, tendons, and ligaments, along with the fascia and skin around them to reduce pain and promote relaxation and stress reduction by inhibiting the sympathetic (fight/flight) nervous system and stimulating the parasympathetic (rest/digest) nervous system. Each series of Bowen moves is followed by a brief rest period in which the body and brain integrate the treatment before the next series of moves is performed. Science has proven that observation influences outcome, therefore the therapist leaves the room during the rest period to allow the client’s body to begin the natural healing process without interference. Bowen therapy is gentle, non-invasive, and safe for everyone from newborn to old age.
